The ‘2022 Daegu Star Company Designation Ceremony’ was held at the Daegu Inter-Burgo Hotel at 3pm on July 12, 2022. At this event, representatives of 15 new Daegu star companies and corporate PMs attended and received letters of designation and appointment from Daegu City and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Jina Bok, CEO of Vision Digitech, which was selected in the future automotive field, attended and said that they would work harder to grow into a global small hidden champion in the future.

The regional star company development industry, a project of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups that has been implemented since 2018, is a support project to select companies with local potential and grow them into global small hidden champions. The 15 Daegu star companies selected this year have an average sales of KRW 17.8 billion and employment of 43 people in 2021. Companies with high growth potential were selected, with an average annual growth rate of 17.5% for three years, exports of 11.7%, and employment of 8.5%. In the future, companies designated as regional star companies can receive growth plan consulting, dedicated R&D task support, and company-tailored package support for a total of approximately 80 million won over three years.
